Brevard Veterans Resource Network

BVRN logoThe Brevard Veterans Resource Network is a coalition of groups providing resources and support to veterans, active-duty military and their families throughout the county.
Organizations and individuals in the BVRN work to increase communication and coordination among agencies and in the community. They include community leaders who represent government, nonprofit and business entities and meet quarterly to update, exchange information, assess gaps and collaborate.
Those in need of assistance or information about veterans resources may access the BVRN through:
• A Veterans Response Team Specialist who is accessible by dialing 2-1-1 and provides information, support and coordination of services via telephone or text.
• A Veterans/Military web portal on the 2-1-1 Brevard website that links to a database of community resources that are exclusively for veterans or active military or that have veteran preference.
• A Facebook page that offers news from BVRN members, including changes in resources, promotion of fundraising events and opportunities to volunteer.
The Brevard Veterans Resource Network represents the unified activities of the Community Blueprint-Brevard, an initiative co-led by the Military Officers Association of America-Cape Canaveral Chapter and the Community Foundation for Brevard since 2013, and a project developed by a team in LEAD Brevard’s Class of 2016.
A leadership group provides strategic guidance and oversight of BVRN efforts. It is made up of representatives from 2-1-1 Brevard, Community Foundation for Brevard, CareerSource Brevard, City of Palm Bay, Eastern Florida State College, MOAA-Cape Canaveral, The TECH Project and the Department of Veterans Affairs.
The Boeing Co. provided funding for the program through 2016. Initial support was provided by Harris Corporation Charitable Fund, Petre Family Charitable Fund, Fulton’s Folly Fund in Memory of Robert M. Fulton and an anonymous donor, all through the Community Foundation.
Additional support is needed and welcome. If you are interested in participating in or funding the Brevard Veterans Resource Network, contact Theresa Grimison at 321-752-5505 or
